be a better human
We get to choose what makes the world a better place. But mostly we make different choices. A quirk of human nature? The culture we live in?
We often demonise the new. AI is the big one right now.
But, we get to choose. Do we use AI for good? Or not?
I picked up on a podcast featuring Seth Godin. Provocatively titled AI will trap you if you don't quit now.
I saved the link to Recall and asked for a detailed summary (one of my favourite functions).
This is what it said about the AI segment:
True value is created by leveraging AI to facilitate human connection, build networks, and exercise good taste—areas where AI cannot replace human interaction 01:37:09.
Rather than using AI to cut costs and race to the bottom, businesses can use it to augment professionals, such as doctors, allowing them to spend more meaningful time with the people they serve 01:40:02.
What if we chose this perspective? Used AI in ways that enable us to focus on connection and interaction? What if AI could help us be better humans?
It's all a question of where we put our energy. As Seth Godin says, we either work for AI or have AI work for us. The choice begins with us.
